STILL PONDERING THIS ONE
This is an old Bolivian knitted hat. It is quite small and obviously for a child. The consignor brought in a bundle for me to sell. All of them have very interesting images but this one really intrigued me. I would love to know the story.
I know nothing about Peru, but my guess would be memories of a military event, perhaps a rescue or something worth remembering (or maybe it's their idea of visitors from outer space, or maybe those people that used those mysterious air strips). Hope someone who sees it has a good answer, now I'm super curious, too!
ReplyDeleteI am not up on the politics of those countries either. I am going to try and get a date from the consignor....that may tell us something. Another Miss Marple adventure (private joke) between Martie and me.
ReplyDeleteI see a bad joke coming on. What happens when a pony, a goose, a paratrooper, and a rooster walk into a Peruvian bar? Apparently, a little knitted hat for a wee lad or lass.
